Mentee Question

Asked by Incognito

While doing the problems by seeing videos of others doing via Youtube I was able to do them and understand but when I tried to do it all by myself, I couldn't. Any suggestions or tips?

Practice. Practice. Practice.

While watching a video, one has an anchor to hang on to, to take the tips, and feel confident in moving. It is comparatively more complex when one does it all alone. Then, one need to face the challenges alone and think beyond the comfort zone. How to master it.

Remember learning bi-cycle in childhood. It might have been challenging to try it all alone for the first time, v/s when someone is holding it. What made that work? 'Practice'

Hi There,

I can totally connect with you.

I would recommend you to go from basic, like very easy problems, by not looking at solutions. Once you start doing that you gradually get to solve other problems. Just don't give up.

Before starting problems get hold of the language you are using for solving the problem and basic data structures and once you're good with that it's only logical thinking and application.

However, some questions require the knowledge of certain algorithms when it is totally okay to study the algorithm and approach similar questions.

The key is to go from basics and don't give up.

Hope this helps.
