Mentee Question

Asked by Saurabh jagadale

So hey, I am a student of mechanical diploma but lately I've realised that I have no interest in this field. Instead I want to become a software developer. Considering the time and money I have , I can't do formal education( CS degree) and I am opting for self learning through internet, coding bootcamps and courses. After getting enough skills will I get job in this field or I'll be refused because of my education path. Please help me and it'll be great if you answer me through email only. Thank you !

Hey,

It's awesome that you're diving into software development! Don't worry too much about your educational background. Many successful developers are self-taught. Focus on building your skills through online resources and practical projects. Highlight your abilities and projects on your resume, and network within the industry. With dedication, you can land a job in software development.

Best of luck!

Hey Saurabh,

Hoping you would have received your answer till now. Most of Non CS background student follow this path. To enter into software developer role you must be good in DSA and few computer fundamentals subjects. So, you won't ever be refused based on your background.

Only limitations that you will see is sometimes you might get demotivated while you will be preparing for that only you need a mentor to keep you consistent with preparation and help you out.
