The need for LLD and HLD preparation varies based on several factors. These include the specific job requirements, the candidate's skills and experience, and the company's expectations.
Some companies explicitly require LLD and HLD experience, while others prioritize coding skills and practical problem-solving. For instance, if you are aiming for an SDE-2 position, LLD experience/knowledge is typically expected. For an SDE-3 position, both HLD and LLD expertise are usually needed.
Additionally, it's crucial to convey your willingness and capacity to learn and adapt to the demands of the new role. If you lack experience in LLD and HLD, emphasize your openness to training and self-study to bridge any knowledge gaps.
