Hi Raja Digvijay Singh,

How to create a stand out resume?

  1. Work on side projects, which aim at learning new tech . Keep the progress updated via git-hub, make the projects open. Also once completed try to host them and put in working links in the resume. Having a good portfolio of projects can instantly make you standout in the crowd where everyone has just focused on DSA.
  2. That being said, DSA is imp too. Try to participate in online DSA competition and build a great profile on such platform codeforces, codechef being a few.

How to effectively write the solutions for the online assessment rounds?

  1. Practice, practice , practice. Developing intuition takes time, and practising questions from different topics and on different platform give you that confidence and intuition building which will help you figure out the solution.
  2. Make an habit to compete in coding competitions each week on reputed platforms, this will help you build the ability to think solutions in restricted time.

Creating a standout resume:

  1. Clear and concise format: Use a clean, easy-to-read format with clear headings and bullet points. Keep your resume to one page if possible, especially for entry-level positions.
  2. Highlight achievements: Instead of just listing responsibilities, focus on quantifiable achievements. For example, "Increased sales by 20% in Q4" sounds more impressive than "Responsible for sales." Show the impact instead of work. Also explain why and the importance of the project.
  3. Include relevant keywords: Many companies use applicant tracking systems (ATS) to scan resumes for specific keywords. Incorporate relevant keywords from the job posting to increase your chances of getting noticed.

To stand out for off campus placements, keep these things in mind

  1. Networking: Reach out to professionals in your desired field through platforms like LinkedIn or attend industry events. Networking can help you uncover hidden job opportunities and get referrals. USE LINKEDIN! Reach out to people who are in companies/roles that you aspire to get, and talk to them. You would be surprised how many would be willing to help you.
  2. Online presence: Build a strong online presence by sharing relevant content, participating in discussions, and showcasing your projects or portfolio on platforms like GitHub, Behance, or personal websites.
  3. Demonstrate skills: If applicable, include links to your portfolio, GitHub repository, or personal projects that demonstrate your skills and expertise.

Turning an internship opportunity into a full-time offer:

  1. Show initiative: Take on additional responsibilities, ask for feedback, and actively seek opportunities to contribute beyond your assigned tasks.
  2. Build relationships: Network with your colleagues and supervisors, and demonstrate your willingness to learn and collaborate with others.
  3. Deliver results: Consistently exceed expectations and deliver high-quality work. Demonstrate your value to the company through your contributions.
  4. Express interest: Towards the end of your internship, express your interest in joining the company full-time and inquire about potential opportunities.
  5. Be reliable: People want to rely on their employees. If any work is given, it should be done proactively.

Hi Raga,

Data structure and Algorithm is one of the most demanding skill atleast when you are appearing for any interview. You should also be very good logical and analytical skills. Apart from that you must have done some good projects where you would show your in depth technical skills and will help you in moving onto the full time employees rather than just an intern.

Hi Raja,

1. How to Create a Stand-Out Resume :

Your resume should reflect who you are and where you’re going, not just what you’ve done.

  1. Keep it 1 page (as a student)
  2. Highlight key areas:
  • Projects: Mention your fintech project—what you built, tools used, your role.
  • Certifications: You're already doing great with certifications like CC (ISC2), CNSP, and Cybersecurity internships. Mention these with skills learned + impact.
  • Hackathons & Events: Like the Innomatics Hackathon, and Flipkart GRID quiz—highlight what problems you solved.

🎯 2. How to Stand Out in Off-Campus Applications

Standing out = clarity + consistency + visibility

  1. Optimize your LinkedIn (you’re already doing great!):
  • Keep posting about what you’re learning, like you did with GirlScript, SSOC, and certifications.
  • Add a banner and write a strong summary—show your passion for cybersecurity + fintech + growth.

2. Contribute to Open Source or Communities

  • You’ve already joined GirlScript Summer of Code—leverage it to show consistent learning and networking.

3. How to Effectively Write Solutions in Online Assessments

To stand out during coding rounds:

1. Always explain your logic first

Start with a few lines explaining your approach in comments.

2. Write clean code

Use meaningful variable names and follow a consistent structure.

3. Add time & space complexity at the end

That shows you understand efficiency.

4. How to Turn an Internship into a Full-Time Offer

You’ve already landed internships—great job! To convert them:

1. Communicate well – Ask doubts, give regular updates.

2. Take ownership – Volunteer for tasks beyond what’s given.

3. Learn fast & deliver consistently – Ask for feedback and show improvement.

4. Show interest in the company’s mission – Mention how you want to grow with them.

5. As a 2nd-Year Student: What to Do Now to Be Fully Ready by 3rd Year :

You're on the right path already, but here’s how to sharpen further:

  1. Technical Skills:
  • Learn Data Structures & Algorithms deeply (focus on Python, since you've already done it).
  • Explore Full Stack or go deeper in Cybersecurity (choose one core path, but stay open).

2. Projects:

  • Keep building real-world projects. One fintech project is a great start. Document it well (GitHub + Blog + LinkedIn post).

3. Certifications:

  • You already have strong ones. Continue with niche ones like Network Security, Threat Intel, etc.

4. Communication:

  • Practice writing clear emails, LinkedIn posts, and explaining your project/work in interviews.

5. Resume & Profile Updates:

  • Update resume every 3 months.
  • Share your learning journey regularly on LinkedIn (like you’ve been doing!).

6. Mock Interviews + Networking:

  • Join mock interview platforms (Pramp, InterviewBuddy).
  • Join student communities, Discord servers for cybersecurity/devs.

If you want, I can also help review your resume or LinkedIn, or even help you build a custom roadmap for 2nd to 3rd year success. Just ask 😊
