Mentee Question
How much cgpa is good for oncampus
Mentors Answer
Answered By Mentor Rahul Bhargav P
Hi Kamran,
Different companies would have different eligibility criteria for CGPA. It also varies based on no of open positions in the company, strength of the college etc.
But companies coming for on-campus interviews would generally communicate the CGPA requirement beforehand. Your college placement cell or your seniors can help you with that.
The higher your CGPA, the better your chances of getting shortlisted for the interviews. However, CGPA is not the only factor that determines your success in the placement process. You also need to prepare well for the aptitude tests, coding rounds, and technical and behavioral interviews.
Majority of the product-based companies expects a minimum gpa of 7. I would recommend maintaining a GPA of above 8 and focus more on problem solving and working on side projects to gain more hands-on experience.

Hi Kamran,
Keeping your CGPA above 9 would be a good benchmark to get shortlisted in most of the companies which take into account CGPA criteria. As we are talking about CGPA, I would most definitely say CGPA is an important aspect when it comes to on campus placements. So keep it as high as possible.
All the best.
