Mentee Question
How do I upskill myself to go from Junior to Senior developer?
Mentors Answer
Answered By Mentor Shivam Goel
There is no golden rule to go from Junior to Senior developer and it would depend on your skill set, your experience, the work you are doing and a lot more factors.
But if you ask in general i could add following points:
1) Take ownership and should you are responsible
Start taking of end to end ownership of the tasks given to you, talk to stakeholders yourself and deliver it end to end yourself, This is first step towards transitioning to senior dev.
2) Start looking at high level design of your system, and propose changes to design or start proposing design of new services.
3) Start mentoring interns in your organisation
4) Lead the discussion in scrums, and ask questions (if you have any) related to the work others are doing.
This is just a small list to start with and rest obviously it would depend on person to person. Feel free to reach out as well.
