Here is detailed breakdown of Amazon SDE 2 Interview rounds.
Blog
1st Round
It was Online Assessment (OA) that consists of 2 coding questions + MCQ based System Design case studies + MCQ based behavioral questions based on Amazon LPs (Leadership Principles).
2nd Round
It was a screening round. One DSA question, interviewer later extended the question a bit. It was followed by one LP question. Interviewer will focus on code quality and time complexity. This round is optional and will be skipped if you fully solved both coding questions in the OA.
Once you clear the screening rounds, 3 F2F rounds will be scheduled.
3rd & 4th Round
Each round includes two DSA questions and one LP question. You have to come up with optimised solution and write production ready code for them.
5th Round
This was an HLD round. You'll be expected to drive the discussion on scale estimations, database schema, API design, system architecture, and fault tolerance. Discuss all trade-offs with the interviewer to demonstrate your thought process, breadth of knowledge and problem-solving ability. This was followed by one LP question.
Once you clear the 3 f2f rounds, bar raiser will be scheduled.
6th Round (Bar raiser)
This was an LLD round for me. Discuss all the design patterns, OOPs priciples that you find suitable for the problem and come up with an extendable & maintainable solution. This was followed by two LP questions.
Each round was of 1 hour, so manage your time accordingly. All coding questions will be of medium to hard difficulty. Answers to LP questions should be based on your own experiences, the interviewer will probe deeply into your answers. LP questions are as important as technical questions.
